Our Story
Hammer's New York Pizza was founded with a passion for authentic pizza. We use traditional recipes and fresh ingredients to bring the taste of New York to your table.
I would like to say that it all started when my Great Grand Parents emigrated from Italy to New York sometime in the 1890's. They brought with them the seeds to make this all happen.
Personally, I started my professional career in food and beverage when I was only 15 years old. Now 45 years later and having opened two other successful pizzerias: I am proud to bring Hammer's New York Pizza to Encinitas.
The dough and sauce recipes have been a three generation, guarded family secret, and always made from scratch. Our dough is made in house and hand rolled to form the dough balls. Our pizza's,Calzones, and Stromboli are cooked in a traditional stone oven, not on a metal conveyor belt! The sauce is made from 100% tomatoes and fresh spices, made in house as well.
I am very serious about everything that is on the Menu must be made in the traditional New York Italian style, and only the best will do. Don't be fooled by so many others who really have no experience or proper background to do this.
I am really looking forward to meeting all of you who have waited soo long for a real New York Pie, and here in Encinitas. So please come on in where you will be e treated like family. You can enjoy great food, conversation, and leave with a smile.
